NFS Undercover is here…

November 18th, 2008

I’ve now got a copy of Need for Speed: Undercover and… I don’t have an Xbox to play it on. :(

My Xbox 360 has recently decided that it doesn’t want to play nice, freezing during start-up, in-game or just browsing the dashboard, and so I’ve sent it off Microsoft for repairs.

The really annoying part is that it started to play up just days after beginning to play Fable 2.

Red Ring of DeathThis is the second time I’ve had to send my Xbox 360 in for repairs, the first time due to a RROD error in the Summer of 2005.

In the last week I’ve thought of buying a new console with HDMI capabilities and trading the old one, but as I’ll only get $100 trade for the old console I’ll wait and see how well it performs when it returns.

Need for Speed: Undercover

October 6th, 2008

I’ve been a fan of the Need for Speed franchise since the Xbox 360 release of NFS Most Wanted. With the release of NFS Pro Street I was left feeling jaded. All the elements of NFS that made the game enjoyable had been removed - story, free roam, and police chases. Now it looks like all that I love is back…

Looking forward to buying this come November 21.

Stumbled across a cool website today that randomly generates art from stylised text.
Below is an example using the lyrics from “No Aphrodisiac” by The Whitlams.

The SEP is Back!

February 14th, 2008

After a week of server issues the SEP Field is back online. The SEP Field was offline due to an issue with its SQL database followed by what presumably was a major hardare issue as the site was down for the last eight days.
This outage was the first since transferring the site to its current host 18 months ago. Fingers crossed, it was the last.

Edit: After further continued downtime I have now completed a move from MD WebHosting to a new host.

Corporate Body Challange - Finale

December 16th, 2007

The Corporate Body Challange is now over and I have lost close to 10 kilograms. This was enough to earn Runner-up in the Challange, as the Challange was more about lifestyle and less about weight loss. First place being awarded to the Ange who managed to complete weekly food diaries and regular ‘chat’ sessions with the instructors showing a committment to a whole lifestyle change.

Movember - Day 1

November 1st, 2007

Movember has now officially began, and so here is a photo of me ‘pre-mo’ which was taken during our recent trip to Sydney. I always feel a bit self-conscious when growing any facial hair (other than about three days stubble) but as there are 8 others involved in the local office at least I won’t be the only one.
